This Sunday: Come Clean Cambridge Parks With Us!

This Sunday, September 23rd is our first Values in Action (VIA) community service project of the semester! After our beach cleanup last month, which saw twenty-three volunteers fill ten thirty-gallon bags with litter (or around 100 pounds of trash), we will be cleaning up parks in Cambridge’s Area IV, where we previously did a green lightbulb exchange in partnership with the American Humanist Association’s 2011 conference.

We will meet at the Humanist Community Center (12 Eliot St., Third Floor) in Harvard Square on 9/23 at noon. From there, groups will head out to clean three Area IV parks: Green Rose Heritage Park, Clement G. Morgan Park, and Sennott Park. All three of these parks are easily accessible by public transit (with a short walk), and each group will be led by a volunteer. We’ll provide all the supplies you need to collect trash — all you need to do is show up in outdoor-friendly clothes and be ready to put your values into action!

This event is open to the public, and we welcome anyone who is interested to participate. To help us get a sense of how many people are attending, please click here to RSVP. You may contact Assistant Chaplain Chris Stedman at cstedman@harvardhumanist.org if you have any questions.
