Want to spend some time at the beach and put your Humanist values into action? This Sunday, August 26, please join us for our summer service project: a cleanup at Carson Beach. In partnership with the Massachusetts Office of Coastal Zone Management (CZM) and the Urban Harbors Institute (UHI) of the University of Massachusetts Boston, we’ll collect and document debris to both create a cleaner environment and contribute to CZM and UHI’s efforts to collect data about beach debris. After we’re finished, people will be free to hang out at the beach and have a good time!
We’ll meet at 12 Eliot Street at 10:00 AM and travel as a group on the Red Line to Carson Beach, though people are welcome to travel independently and meet the group there around 10:45 AM. If you’d like to attend this service project, please let Chris Stedman know (and mention whether you plan to meet the group at the beach or at 12 Eliot St.) at cdstedman@gmail.com. We hope to see you there!
