The Reason Rally crowd

Thoughts on the First Reason Rally in Washington D.C.

Asst. Humanist Chaplain John Figdor reflects on the progress of the Atheist/Humanist/Non-theist movement over the past ten years. He argues that investment in student groups and greater collaboration between Humanist/Atheist/Non-theist organisations have improved gender balance, given the atheist movement new life in the form of thousands of student Atheist/Humanist group leaders, and offers suggestions on how Atheists and Humanists can express their enthusiasm for Atheism/Humanism. The finished product, a hard-cover coffee-table book, will contain photographic portraits of 100 atheists from around the world. The goal of the book is to illustrate the diversity within our community and to celebrate the many ways in which we find meaning and purpose in our lives. You may also follow me on this journey through this and subsequent posts at at the Humanist Community Project blog! Continue reading
